The Kwethluk community Students, Parents, Teachers, IRA Members including AVCP Representatives & VPSO’s, State Troopers and Police Officers from Kwethluk, Akiachak and Akiak held a march for sobriety. Many held signs Against Alcoholism and drug-abuse with the leading message saying ‘Enough is Enough.’

Michael Hoffman, Executive Vice-President of AVCP attended the march and said, “The students of Kwethluk should be proud for taking the stand against drugs and alcohol. The courage it took for them to plan and execute the project was not an easy task. The March for Sobriety was something I believe needs to be expressed in every village in our Region and Rural Alaska. So many families and lives have been destroyed and we as First People of Our Land need to make a stand. I was honored to be invited to Participate.”
