SUMMARY:Healthy Families Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Healthy Families uses Elluarluteng Ilakutellriit; a framework demonstrating the life cycle of traditional practices\, values and beliefs\, as told by Elders from around the region and the late Peter Jacobs. The program currently offers a three-and-a-half day workshop\, which is held monthly in Bethel. Facilitators are available to work directly with Tribes to host Workshops at the community level. Local agencies also utilize the Healthy Families Workshop as a training tool for staff who are new to the region\, which strengthens their ability to provide services in culturally appropriate ways.

SUMMARY:Tribal Justice Summit
DESCRIPTION:#2020TribalJustice \nThis summit will provide a forum for our tribal leaders and tribal court personnel to guide our work in addressing tribal justice and training tribal court personnel\, while identifying opportunities for collaboration and partnerships\, throughout the region. \n  \nOpen to tribal court judges\, tribal court clerks\, tribal court administrators\, tribal councils that act as tribal court\, community law enforcement\, and tribal administrators. \nParticipants can expect to travel to Bethel on Tuesday\, Feb. 25\, 2020 and travel home on Friday\, Feb.28\, 2020. \n  \nAVCP Tribal Justice Department will provide scholarships for up to 2 people from each community with preference given to tribal court staff and judges \nSPACE IS LIMITED! \n  \nIf AVCP is not able to offer travel assistance\, the tribe or individual will be responsible for paying for travel\, lodging and per diem. \nREGISTRATION OPENS Jan. 24\, 2020 \nREGISTRATION DEADLINE is FEB. 7\, 2020 AT 5:00 PM. \nPlease contact tribal-justice@avcp.org with any questions about the summit or registration.
