SUMMARY: The TTP Maintenance Coordinator Position plans, schedules, budgets, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with the Maintenance of Community Development Division Maintenance projects in the AVCP region. Participates in the conceptual development of a Maintenance planning & projects, oversee its organization, scheduling, implementation, and close-out. The Maintenance Coordinator is a Bethel based position.



  • Ability to enforce Maintenance project contract provisions
  • Formulate reports concerning such areas as daily and weekly work progress, costs, and scheduling.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
  • Compile Maintenance project records and reports upon completion in accordance with established program procedures, regulations, and statutes (i.e., Davis – Bacon Certified payrolls, etc.).
  • Establish Maintenance project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications. Confer with advisors, supervisors, and superintendents to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints, and Maintenance
  • Oversee, plan, and develop project logistics for all TTP Maintenance projects, including but not limited to contracting, leasing, procuring, mobilizing, etc.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with owners and other contacts to facilitate project activities.
  • Monitor and control Maintenance projects through administrative direction of on-site superintendent/foremen to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent Maintenance division in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
  • Work with contract administrator to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the community.
  • Will requisition supplies and materials to complete project.
  • Work with Superintendents and Manager to assign workers to Maintenance construction sites to work on specified Maintenance
  • Travel extensively throughout the region via small aircraft, boat, snow machine, or truck to conduct site visits of Maintenance projects ranging from a couple days to weeks.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Supervises and collaborates with Maintenance Construction Superintendents/Foremen; encourages open two-way communication with staff to enhance job satisfaction and overall morale.
  • Develops and maintains a culturally sensitive work environment.
  • Ensures staff has the tools and training required to effectively do their jobs.
  • Monitors and implements all phases of the Maintenance construction to ensure planning, proper policies and procedures are in place and suited to meet Maintenance project and community needs.
  • Updates existing departmental policies and creates new ones to improve Maintenance project management procedure standardization and to enhance systemized processes.
  • Compiles, reviews, and approves Maintenance construction employee’s timesheets and submits them to payroll.
  • Conducts performance evaluations of Maintenance Construction Superintendents as required.


WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at Maintenance construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


QUALIFICATIONS: The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have strong Maintenance project management skills. This position requires a thorough understanding of the culture and the needs of the Tribes of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta region. Strong written, oral, organizational, and analytical skills are required. Bilingual Yup’ik/English preferred.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Maintenance Project Management or a related field is preferred or any combination of certification in Maintenance Project Management, experience and training which provided the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. Three to five years of direct experience in Maintenance construction project management may be substituted for the degree or certification.


This position is a Grade 6 and has a Salary Range of:  $56,328 – $84,492
