AVCP understands that every family can fall on hard times.

Through a variety of social services programs, AVCP offers support and assistance to tribal members who need some help in order to prevent people from falling into the cycle of extreme financial hardship that is even more difficult to recover from.
Through the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) General Assistance Program, AVCP provides temporary financial assistance to eligible households to help cover essential needs such as food, clothing, shelter, and utilities.

In order to participate in the program, recipient must be

A member of a tribe that has compacted this service with AVCP;

Able to demonstrate insufficient resources and income to meet their essential needs;

Able to demonstrate insufficient resources and income to meet their essential needs; and

Complete a monthly recertification.
