Heather Kanuk, AVCP Environmental Planner, visited Orutsararmiut Native Council’s (ONC) Environmental Program and met with Mary Matthias, ONC Natural Resources Interim Director, in Bethel, Alaska, on April 10, 2018.
The ONC Environmental Program collaborates with AVCP’s NEPA and IGAP Program recycling aluminum cans, soda/water bottles and batteries. ONC’s Environmental Program’s mission is to support environmental awareness education and increase involvement and community support through their recycling program.
ONC appreciates all participants who volunteer, collecting aluminum cans for their program. Doing so, promotes education, discipline and respect for the environment around our community.
ONC’s Environmental Program also covers Hazardous Waste, Human Health and Exposure, Brownfield’s Land Remediation, Indoor Air Quality and more. ONC provides on-site assessments when environmental or human health concerns are raised.
