Emergency Shelter Access

The American Red Cross of Alaska has mobilized to provide emergency shelter.

Register for Assistance

The State of Alaska Individual Assistance Program provides financial assistance for damage to primary residence, transportation, essential personal property, and medical/funeral/dental needs due to a declared disaster.

Permanent Fund Dividend

The Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) office is holding checks addressed to Kipnuk, Kwigillingok, and Napakiak as the post offices in those communities are currently closed. Applicants can contact the PFD office for more information and to have their checks rerouted.

Mental Health Resources

The American Red Cross is actively supporting evacuees in Bethel and Anchorage. Their services include emotional support and mental health care as part of their broader disaster relief efforts. You can reach them at 1-800-RED-CROSS
City of Bethel Relief Coordination
The city has deployed Yugtun-speaking coordinators to assist displaced families in connecting with community resources. These coordinators can help link survivors to mental health and other support services.

Typhoon Halong Housing Repair Waiver

By submitting this form, homeowners agree to allow approved crews (such as the National Guard, Department of Forestry, AVCP, or volunteer organizations) to remove water-damaged materials from their home and prepare it for winter. This includes muck-out work, replacing insulation, Tyvek, and plywood, and minor repairs like roofing or stairs if possible.

Please note:
This work is intended to prevent further damage and make the home habitable for winter, not restore it to its original condition.  Materials are provided at no cost, and labor will meet generally accepted standards. Homeowners remain responsible for future repairs beyond this emergency work.
