AVCP and many other Western Alaska organizations have requested that the Area M Seiners Association agree to stand down during the June 2022 commercial fishing openers to ensure escapement of AYK-bound chum salmon. The request was shared with Governor Dunleavy, Commissioner Doug Vincent-Lang and all members of the Alaska Board of Fisheries.
