AVCP Acknowledges White House Decision to Rescind OMB Memo M-25-13, which Froze Federal Funds for a Day.
Bethel, Alaska- On January 27, 2025, the Association of Village Council Presidents (AVCP) learned of a memorandum issued by the Acting Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), which temporarily paused all activities related to obligation or disbursement of all Federal financial assistance and other relevant agency activities that President Trump’s executive orders may implicate. This funding freeze memo has been rescinded as of today, January 29, 2025. This means the administration’s previous order to temporarily pause federal obligations and disbursements as part of the President’s efforts to cut federal spending has been withdrawn.
